Audio-reactive real-time visuals for a live concert by Katharina Rosenberger at The Vortex, Los Angeles. The performance is based upon the short story “The Circular Ruins” by Jorge Luis Borges, and revolves around an entity, desperately attempting to “dream” a human form into existence. The visuals consequently build upon the protagonist’s recurring dream attempts while exploring visual mutations of the human form. Therefore microphone signals from artists on stage are analyzed to drive the splicing of 3D video footage. Finally, the real-time visuals are projected onto acrylic glass wrapped with “holographic foil”.
