ÖBB Zeitfenster
The ÖBB Zeitfenster is a media installation that innovatively brings the travel experience into public space. Designed for the 100th anniversary of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), this exhibit was commissioned as a touring installation that travelled across Austria and made stops at major train stations for several weeks.
The design replicates the interior of a train carriage, with embedded monitors functioning as windows into different landscapes. The concept invites viewers to imagine themselves as passengers looking out of a moving train. The video content on the screens has been carefully produced to enhance this immersive experience.
Interaction with the installation is facilitated via a mobile app. By scanning a QR code, visitors can connect to the exhibit, access an interactive menu on the central screen, and navigate the experience using their smartphones. This seamless integration of digital and physical elements transforms the ÖBB Zeitfenster into a dynamic and engaging journey through Austria’s rail history and landscapes.
