Voestalpine BÖHLER Opening

Founded in 1870 as a hammer mill in Kapfenberg, voestalpine’s BÖHLER stainless steel plant opened its state-of-the-art production facility on October 18. Ars Electronica Solutions produced the opening event, featuring a custom-designed show concept that included a staged production in the factory halls, diverse visualizations, and atmospheric sound design – providing 600 guests with an immersive journey through the history of BÖHLER Kapfenberg.

In addition to impressive stage technology by Thomas Hödlmoser, captivating VVVV visuals by Bildwerk, a dancing industrial robot by Creative Robotics, and a high-profile live music ensemble including Rupert Huber, Lena Fankhauser, Maria Petrova, and Lukas Aichinger, plant employees also performed, bringing authenticity to the event. Composer Rupert Huber created a musical journey through the company’s development stages using the band’s repertoire. Ars Electronica Solutions engaged the local community, turning contemporary media art into a stylish whole.
