Ars Electronica Festival
This spatial installation uses coloured light codes to store and transmit user-generated text messages in real time. Texts are encoded into light patterns and stored within individual panels on the interactive media facade. Each panel is constantly “morsing” the text message stored within. A reading device across the river allows for targeting single panels and decoding their content back into text. While aiming at a light sequence the text contained within is decoded and then spelt out via speech synthesis live. Hence, users may create their own cut-up poetry by moving the decoder over the interactive media facade of the building.
