Ars Electronica Festival

This spatial installation uses colored light codes to store and transmit user-generated text messages in realtime. Texts are encoded into light patterns and stored within individual panels on the interactive media facade. Each panel keeps constantly “morsing” its message while using a custom sequence of light signals. A reading device on the opposite side of the river allows for targeting single panels and decoding their content back into text. While aiming at a light sequence the text contained within is spelt out via speech synthesis live. Hence, users may create their own cut-up poetry by moving the decoder over the interactive media facade of the building.
