Goldenes Quartier
Commissioned for the Goldenes Quartier in Vienna, this installation transforms an architectural facade into a generative, weather-responsive surface. The brief was to create a projection that would never repeat itself—drawing its variations directly from the conditions of the surrounding city.
The visual continuously generates patterns while monitoring nearby open-source weather stations for live data. Temperature, wind strength, and time of day each steer the animation, so the imagery shifts with the atmosphere around it—an evolving portrait of the moment in which it is seen.
For the central display we developed a minimalistic, lightweight projection screen designed to attach to four mounting points within the facades. The large windows behind it were covered with adhesive projection foils, adding an extra layer of depth and extending the central projection across the architecture itself.
